Hybrid Schedule - Inventory Planning Leadership Role - DTC eCommerce Brand

About the Role

A global, dynamic eCommerce DTC brand is seeking a strategic, data-driven Inventory Planning Manager to own inventory strategy and execution across multiple brands and channels. This role is highly visible and central to balancing availability, efficiency, margin, and brand integrity within a complex, global supply network.

You'll lead inventory policy and planning decisions, leveraging advanced analytics to continuously optimize asset versus just-in-time inventory, while partnering closely with Merchandising, Manufacturing, Operations, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Strategy & Optimization

• Own end-to-end inventory strategy, balancing service levels, working capital, and margin
• Optimize asset vs. JIT SKU mix using data-driven insights
• Define SKU segmentation, stocking policies, safety stock, and days-on-hand targets
• Align inventory positioning across e-commerce, stores, and fulfillment channels
• Partner with Finance and Merchandising to support growth and profitability goals

Supply & Fulfillment Planning

• Translate demand forecasts into executable replenishment and fulfillment plans
• Build and maintain net requirements and replenishment models across global vendors
• Support omnichannel fulfillment across stores, warehouses, and e-commerce

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Merchandising on vendor alignment, forecast accuracy, and delivery performance
• Collaborate with Manufacturing leadership on production planning, capacity, and inventory positioning
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times and increase flexibility

Analytics & Performance

• Own KPIs including fill rate, inventory turns, stockouts, and excess
• Provide root-cause analysis and actionable insights on inventory performance
• Leverage BI tools and predictive analytics to improve planning accuracy

Seasonal & Risk Planning

• Lead seasonal inventory build and transition strategies
• Partner on lifecycle management, markdowns, and end-of-season planning
• Conduct risk assessments and contingency planning for supply or demand disruptions

Qualifications

• Must have experience in SQL
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of inventory planning, supply planning, with leadership exposure.
• Experience at a DTC brand (eCommerce retail ideal).
• Strong track record of aligning inventory strategy with financial and operational outcomes
• APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP/CLTD), Lean, or Six Sigma a plus

Tech Skills Needed

• Strong BI and analytics capabilities (Power BI, Tableau, SQL)
• Advanced Excel and ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Experience with planning tools (Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, or equivalent)

Compensation & Schedule

• $120k-$130k base salary + 15% target cash bonus (with 30% max bonus) + full stack benefits + 401k match and flexible for the perfect candidate
• 3 days a week in office in Mid-Town Manhattan
