MECHANIC – LANDSCAPE EQUIPMENTMidwest Landscape Industries, Inc. (MLI) is seeking a dependable and skilled Landscape Equipment Mechanic with specialized experience in diesel engines, welding, and roadside/jobsite repair . In this essential role, you'll help keep our diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, and landscape machinery running at peak performance.
This position requires hands-on mechanical know-how, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to respond quickly to jobsite repairs—ensuring our crews can deliver high-quality work without interruption.

🔧 Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel and gas-powered landscaping equipment, trucks, trailers, and utility vehicles.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
🔥 Welding & Fabrication
Perform structural welding repairs (MIG and arc) on equipment frames, components, and attachments to maintain durability and safety.
TIG welding experience is a plus but not required.
🛠 Roadside & Jobsite Repair
Respond to breakdowns in the field with prompt, effective solutions to reduce downtime.
Operate and maintain a well-equipped service vehicle.
🛡 Preventive Maintenance
Follow and implement proactive maintenance schedules, performing inspections, fluid changes, and part replacements.
Keep machines in peak condition year-round.
📋 Documentation & Safety Compliance
Accurately log all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Prioritize safety in every task, ensuring compliance with all company and industry protocols.
Mechanical Experience : 3+ years as a mechanic/technician working with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical diagnostics (landscape or heavy equipment preferred).
Welding Proficiency : Strong MIG and arc welding skills for equipment repair (TIG welding not required).
Roadside Repair Experience : Comfortable working on job sites under pressure and in varying conditions.
Problem-Solving Ability : Skilled at diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues independently.
Communication : Able to provide clear updates to team members, managers, and dispatch.
Physical Fitness : Able to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Driver’s License : Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. (CDL a plus.)
