About 60% of the business they bid is bridge work, with the remaining 40% is highway, utility, or other infrastructure related work. They're not super picky on what software exp you have - they just want good estimators with bridge experience.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Develop quantity takeoffs and pricing for all scopes of work.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as needed.
- Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies within the estimate.
Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in estimating for heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar).
- Experience with public agency bidding (e.g., MDOT, municipal, federal).
